Wheel Term Two: May

This 6-week course is suitable for beginners to intermediates looking at improving specific wheel techniques. You will learn about preparing clay, throwing simple shapes on the wheel, how to trim and glaze them. You will have your own hand made pots to take home. 6 x 2.5 hour classes once a week.

Glaze Development Program

This 5-week course is suitable for beginners and intermediates looking to develop an understanding of glaze materials. We will generate a range of glaze surfaces. At the end of this course, you will have your own set of glazes. With an understanding of how to approach testing.

  • Includes the Neo Glaze Materials booklet.

  • This course runs in March, June and September

  • Learn how to make and use test tiles modifying glazes with fluxes and colourants

Hand Building: May

Develop your hand building skills over 6 x 2.5 hour weekly classes suitable for beginners and intermediates. We will improve specific techniques including slab, coiling and decorating. Class includes group instruction to guide you through the processes of hand building and decorating.

4 Week Wheel Intensive July 2025

Each week consists of 2 x 2.5 hr sessions one class under instruction and the second working independently. This 20 hours of studio time offers a terrific opportunity to get some consistent making and develop your skills.

  • 8 x 2.5 hour sessions twice a week.

  • The fee includes tuition, tool use, clay and glazes

  • 3 kg of firing included additional $18/kg

  • We will cover: Marbling coloured clay and lids

Group Bookings

Group bookings are available for up to 10 people. Sessions can be on the potters wheel or hand building.

  • 1 x 2 hour session twice a week.

  • The fee includes tool use, clay, glazes, tuition and the option to keep work made in the session

Wheel Taster Class

The taster class is a great introduction to the pottery wheel. Supported by the instruction of an experienced teacher participants will work towards forming a small bowl or cup. We can accommodate groups of up to 10 people.

  • 1 x 1.5 hr session

  • $16 optional fee to fire one small bowl or cup which will be glazed by Neo staff

Slip Casting and Mould Making

This class series will offer a introduction to slip casting, mould making and introducing plaster to your studio. The construction of a plaster mould from a 3D printed positive will be demonstrated and explained. You will use existing moulds to create a range of objects that you will decorate and glaze.

  • 5 x 2 hour classes.

  • Plaster moulds will be provided
