Wheel Term: February - March

This 6-week course is suitable for beginners to intermediates looking at improving specific wheel techniques. You will learn about preparing clay, throwing shapes on the wheel, how to trim and glaze them. You will have your own hand made pots to take home. 6 x 2.5 hour classes once a week.

Glaze Development Program

This 5-week course is suitable for beginners and intermediates looking to develop an understanding of glaze materials. We will generate a range of glaze surfaces. At the end of this course, you will have your own set of glazes. With an understanding of how to approach testing.

  • This course runs in February, July and October

  • How to make/modify glazes with fluxes and colourants

Hand Building: February - March

Develop your hand building skills over 6 x 2.5 hour weekly classes suitable for beginners and intermediates. We will improve specific techniques including slab, coiling and decorating. Class includes group instruction to guide you through the processes of hand building and decorating.

Slip Casting: February

This class series will offer an introduction to slip casting, mould making and using plaster. The construction of a plaster mould from a 3D printed positive will be demonstrated. You will use existing moulds to create a range of objects that you will decorate and have the opportunity to make your own mould.

Wheel Intro Class: Early 2026

Our 2 hour introductory wheel throwing class steps you through the basics of throwing on the potters wheel. In this class, you’ll have the opportunity to engage with the materials and learn how to throw a simple form like a bowl or cup. This class is suitable for all levels of experience.

  • Small class size with an experienced teacher

Hybrid Wheel and Hand Building

The eight weeks consists of 1 x 2.5 hr session per week under instruction rotating with two teachers on the wheel and hand building. Your class time will be supported by independent studio time to develop your skills. We will use stoneware and coloured clays

  • 6 x 2.5 hour Studio access sessions for independent work
